All of us at Big Friday are very conscious of our footprint
on the planet and as ocean lovers we want to do all we can to ensure
that we, and everyone who comes surfing with us, cause as little damage
as possible.
By taking the Big Friday bus to Cornwall rather than flying
or driving in separate cars, you are reducing the pollution that you
cause .. so that is a good start! We encourage everyone who joins one
of our overseas trips to offset the carbon emissions from their flight
through a donation to forestry and climate friendly energy projects
which save the equivalent amounts of CO2. Check out Carbon
Neutral for more information on how to do this.
To save on paper we don’t print a brochure –
all of our trip details are available on this website or by email or
phone. Our booking process is also kept as paperless as possible.
For 2006 our charity of the year is the English Surfing
Federation. We have worked with the ESF surf school for a number of
years now and as England’s governing body, the ESF sadly receives
no official support from the Government or Sport England.
At all of our film nights and on our trips we’ll
therefore be collecting any pennies you can generously give and are
hoping to meet the costs for 2 English surfers to compete in the World
Championships. We’ll bring you more news on how this is all going
and updates from ESF surfers and their results later in the year.
